Galveston Offers a Bounty of Thanksgiving Options

2020 has taught us we have a lot to be thankful for.

Here in Galveston, there is a cornucopia of choices to make this holiday extra special – and tasty. Choose from picking up an entire pre-made meal, some tasty sides, or opt in for dine-in. Here are some options to consider to help make your Thanksgiving meal even more delicious

Small party or large, the Hotel Galvez has you covered. For groups up to six, $175 gets you a half turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce and a world-famous Gaido’s pecan pie or a pumpkin pie. For parties of 12, you’ll get a whole turkey and both pies for $325. Each option offers a choice of three sides: garlic mashed potatoes, orange sweet-potato puree with marshmallow merengue, spiced roasted root vegetables, sage and chestnut cornbread stuffing and sauteed green beans with crispy onions.

Not many people can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal along a bustling port and seeing dolphins play in the water. But you can if you make reservations at Fisherman’s Wharf. They’re serving a choice of shrimp queso or deviled eggs appetizer, gumbo or salad, turkey or ham with traditional sides, plus a choice of pecan or pumpkin pie. Choose from a salmon crostini kit featuring whole smoked salmon loin, crostini bread, crème fraiche, cilantro oil, micro greens for $150, or bacon macaroni and cheese – half pan $20, full pan $40. Bank some extra points and bring dessert, Momma’s Recipe bread pudding with Chantilly crème and pecans -- half pan $50, full pan $100.
